Brandi, Molly & Lola

Jon and Helen arrive with their beloved chocolate Labrador, eleven-year-old Brandi. They already know that she has bone cancer in the femur (thigh bone) of one of her back legs, and that limb amputation may be the eventual outcome, but they are concerned that she is now refusing to walk and so visit Fitzpatrick’s cancer hospital for tests before consulting with Noel about their options for limb salvage.

Distraught Brian and Lisa rush to the practice with their 20-week-old Bulldog puppy Molly who is immediately admitted as a trauma case after being run over by a car. Tests reveal a fractured front leg as well as a suspected dislocated hip, but Molly needs to be stabilised before Noel can consider surgery.

Ten-year-old Beagle Lola is in the late summer of her life and is brought to Fitzpatricks by Sarah who is worried that she may have a spinal problem after collapsing on her back legs. An MRI scan reveals that the pain from which she is suffering is associated with two diseased discs between her neck vertebrae which are compressing her spinal cord and nerves.
