Koa, Kwanda & Cleo

Rob and Mel have travelled five hours from sunny Newquay to seek the advice of Professor Noel Fitzpatrick. Their six-month-old Bouvier de Flandres Koa has a severely deformed leg – causing his foot to bend out sideways. Noel and the team at Fitzpatrick Referrals face complex surgery and a long road to recovery to ensure that Koa is given the very best quality of life that a puppy deserves.

11-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback Kwanda is admitted to Fitzpatrick Referrals Oncology & Soft Tissue centre when mum Patricia becomes increasingly concerned about a swelling bulge in Kwanda’s right eye. Initially thinking it was a sleepy eye, the swelling has begun to bother Kwanda and is reducing her eyesight significantly. Patricia turns to soft tissue specialist Dr Laurent Findji who is concerned that it may be a tumour and potentially faces the prospect of removing Kwanda’s eye altogether.

Rescue dog Cleo has struggled with pain in her back leg for years following two failed total hip replacement operations. The previous surgery had only lasted a year but sadly regressed and the leg was lame once again. Desperate to find a solution to put Cleo out of pain and give her the life she deserves, doting mum Jane seeks the opinion of Professor Noel Fitzpatrick and the team at Fitzpatrick Referrals.
